The biggest annual event for games and all about gaming, Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) is canceled due to COVID-19. ESA finally decides to cancel the annual conference until 2021. Despite the event being still far – June 9-11 in Los Angeles, California the amount of infection in California and the United States seems to be a growing concern for a long time.
“After careful consultation with our member companies regarding the health and safety of everyone in our industry – our fans, our employees, our exhibitors and our longtime E3 partners – we have made the difficult decision to cancel E3 2020, scheduled for June 9-11 in Los Angeles.”
A Modified E3 2020
Despite the cancellation, ESA is still considering an event for this year. The organization says it is “exploring options with our members to coordinate an online experience to showcase industry announcements and news in June 2020,” but nothing concrete has been announced on that score.
Here is the official cancelation statement as posted on their website.
What do you think of the decision? Is it too early or do you agree with them?
