The last time I played Persona was for Playstation 1 and I am familiar with at least Persona 1 and 2. This is the reason when a friend of mine gave me Persona 5 Strikers, I was very happy because finally, I will get to play the game once again.
After playing a couple of times we decided to make a quick Game Review of Persona 5 Strikers.
Persona 5 Strikers Background
Persona 5 Strikers is a crossover between Koei Tecmo’s Dynasty Warriors franchise and Atlus’ 2016 role-playing game Persona 5, and is set half a year after the events of the original Persona 5.
The game is an action role-playing game developed by Omega Force and P-Studio and published by Atlus. The plot follows Joker and the rest of the Phantom Thieves of Hearts as they investigate a series of mysterious events involving people across Japan.
Persona 5 Strikers was initially released in Japan last February 2020 for both the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4. The game finally has a worldwide release last February 2021.
Gameplay of Persona 5 Strikers
The last time I played Persona it was a turn-based RPG and I get to really adore the persona of the characters. Since then lots changed and playing this game made me want to play the rest of the Persona game as well as Dynasty Warriors (perhaps).
Persona 5 Strikers changed from a turn-based game into a mixture between Dynasty Warrior’s hack-and-slash and Persona’s RPG tactics. The battle takes place on the field in real time.
What’s interesting about the game is that all members of the Phantom Thieves can be controlled both in and out of battle in the Metaverse, and can also be switch via Baton Pass in battle. Follow Up attacks are also an interesting addition.
Feedback on Persona 5 Strikers
Story. I really love how the story unfolds in the game. It let’s us know the characters we love from Persona 5 better and explore something out of the usual game.
Difficulty. Before starting the game, you can actually choose between EASY, NORMAL and HARD. Since I just want to enjoy the story I chose NORMAL and it was really great. The game was easy and the travel and map was also made very efficient. I usually gets lost in games but for this one I was never lost, at least not that many. I streamed the game as well and well, I stopped when I met the one of the big bosses.
Controls and Combat. Combat was really great but I find it too hard to memorize tons of combinations for the move considering there are too many characters to control. It was like a fighting game were there are special moves and also an RPG. When I met a really hard boss, I have to read all the tutorials in order to find out how things work. This difficulty is perhaps because I have not played Dynasty Warriors before and also not been playing Persona for 20 years.
Persona 5 Strikers Rating
I am giving the game a 4.5 out of 5 rating. It is a good game and a good experience. I love playing RPG games and this one is definitely a game you will love to play.
I will finish the game soon and stream it as well via Red Cloud Gaming and Esports. What do you think of Persona 5 Strikers? Share us your commend and feedback by commenting on this article.
